Nathan DiPietro is a fine artist with 13 years of experience as a painter. Over the past 2 years he has transitioned his artistic practice to painting immersive environments and artworks in virtual reality.
Since the release of the newest generation of virtual reality headsets in 2016, DiPietro has been developing various skills to facilitate the creation of immersive art experiences including over 500 hours of time painting in Google TiltBrush. His work will be featured at Choosing realities: "Arts in VR/AR/MR" in Bern, Switzerland this November.
DiPietro received his BFA from Central Washington University in 2003. He is represented in Seattle by Woodside/Braseth Gallery. His work has been shown nationally at galleries in Los Angeles, New York, North Carolina, and Texas. His work has been reviewed in Art in America, Art LTD, The Seattle Times, and The Stranger. He has been the recipient of a Pollock Krasner Foundation Grant and the 2016 Neddy Artist Award in painting. Nathan currently teaches digital painting at Cornish College of the Arts.
This includes a 1, 3 or 6-hour performance including breaks and 1.5 hrs of set-up and removal.
